Reflection: Black History Month & Women’s History Month

As we approach the end of the first quarter, I’ve been reflecting on both Black History Month and Women’s History Month — powerful reminders of the resilience, leadership, and entrepreneurship that shape our communities.

Black History Month honors the perseverance of professionals and business owners who built opportunity where few existed.

Women’s History Month celebrates the strength, innovation, and leadership of women who continue to break barriers and build lasting legacies.

As a Black woman-owned business, WellKept Financials LLC stands at the intersection of both.

My journey — from healthcare billing and bookkeeping to federal financial leadership and now entrepreneurship — was made possible by trailblazers who paved the way before me. This business is rooted in perseverance, education, and an unwavering commitment to excellence — values that continue to open doors for professionals and entrepreneurs to lead and serve with purpose.

Throughout history, women have built businesses while balancing families, careers, and communities. Today, they are launching companies at record rates and stepping into leadership across healthcare, finance, and beyond. I am proud to support women physicians, women entrepreneurs, women leaders, and small business owners committed to building generational impact.

Strong financial foundations empower strong businesses — and strong businesses build strong communities.

Grateful for the leaders and visionaries who continue to inspire progress.
